Mountain biking in North Mississippi

There are currently few trail options for North Mississippi mountain bikers. Most mountain bikers that live in North MS drive an average of 40 – 50 minutes to trails in the Memphis, TN area. There are two trails in North MS accessible to mountain bikers located on Arkabutla Lake. However, both trails (Bayou Point and Coldwater River Nature Trail) are still more than a 30 minute drive for most DeSoto County residents. NMTA is trying to change that and develop additional trails that are more central to DeSoto County and increase recreational tourism to the area.
As additional trails are developed in the area we hope that more people will add mountain biking to their regular recreational activities. We intend to help educate new riders though this website as well as group rides and events.
